Dennis E Boyd Sr, also known as Hosea, is a multi-talented individual and a United States Army veteran. He was born in Bermuda and raised with a love for ginger, which was one of the island’s major exports. Hosea served at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and has a background as a historian, photographer, vegan chef, and juice maker.

In 1993, Hosea suffered a personal tragedy with the loss of his mother and a fourth heart attack, leading him to adopt a vegan lifestyle and focus on his health. He opened a successful vegan restaurant in Los Angeles and later created GingerSurprise, a ginger-based juice, in 2005. Despite not liking the raw taste of ginger, Hosea combined it with other ingredients to create a product that was appealing and had health benefits.

GingerSurprise gained popularity and received endorsements from celebrities and health professionals. It was featured in farmers markets, stores, and all Whole Foods locations in Southern California. Thirty years later, with 108 flavors under his belt, Hosea is now ready to relaunch GingerSurprise and bring it back to the market. He has been able to focus on the product and continues to provide a juice that has received positive health results from those who have tried it.
